New PQ7-M105IT Module Board with PQ7-C100XL Carrier Board Supports Industrial Temperature Range of -40°C to 85°C

Portwell Inc., a world-leading innovator in the embedded computing market and a member of the Intel® Embedded Alliance, announces great news for OEMs and ODMs whose applications require an ultra compact platform and a wide operating temperature range: both the PQ7-M105IT module board and its companion PQ7-C100XL 3.5" ESB developer carrier board now support an industrial temperature range of -40° to 85°. The new PQ7-M105IT module board is the very latest in the company's growing portfolio of Qseven modules. At a mere 70mm x 70mm (2.75" x 2.75"), the ultra compact PQ7-M105IT module board supports the Intel® Atom™ processor E620T/E640T/E660T/E680T and the Intel® Platform Controller Hub EG20T. It supports various processor speed grades from 600MHz, 1.0GHz to 1.3GHz. The PQ7-M105IT module board features 1GB system memory; dual independent display by LVDS/SDVO; one Industrial-grade Gigabit Ethernet; seven USB ports; expansion of two SATA; one SDVO; high definition audio; LPC; four PCI-E x1; and one CAN Bus interface.

The PQ7-C100XL developer carrier board is based on Portwell’s popular 3.5" ESB form factor and features one VGA port and one LVDS port for dual independent display; one Gigabit Ethernet port; seven USB ports; two SATA ports; one SDIO socket; expansion via one Mini PCI-E; plus an onboard 12V DC to DC circuit for DC-in applications.

PQ7-M105IT module board with its companion PQ7-C100XL developer carrier board is the ideal solution for a variety of low power, wide temperature and fanless applications such as outdoor embedded systems, industrial control, COTS military and In-Vehicle infotainment systems.

Efficient, Effective Energy Management Using Qseven Technology

“When designing the PQ7-M105IT and PQ7-C100XL, we applied the successful modular computing concept of our COM Express form factor and came up with an even more compact, efficient and economical combination,” says Frederic Wang, product manager, Portwell, Inc. “The ultra low power Intel® Atom™ processor E620T/E640T/E660T and Intel® PCH EG20T are housed on the PQ7-M105IT module board and the 3.5" ESB form factor-based PQ7-100XL serves as a development kit carrier board with all of the necessary connectors. In this way,” Wang explains, “we were able to maximize Qseven technology to produce a unit that not only outputs under 5W for fanless applications, but also supports a wide -40°C to 85°C industrial temperature range. The PQ7-M105IT conserves scarce energy resources, minimizes carbon impact and keeps its energy budgets under control. Individual empowerment is critical; we want our cutomers to have the ability to choose smarter energy management. Expanding Qseven with Extended Temperature Support

The Qseven module has been enhanced by Portwell in response to market demand for an even smaller form factor to take advantage of the Intel Atom processor’s already compact design.

“Since its initial inception, Portwell’s expanding Intel® Atom™ processor-based Qseven portfolio has now grown to include industrial temperature range support,” Wang confirms. “We deliver an extensive and ever-expanding Intel® Atom™ processor-based product portfolio featuring Qseven, ETX, and COM Express.”

Portwell's PQ7-M105IT is designed with Intel® ultra low power E600 series CPU and EG20T IOH. It features less than 5W power consumption, -40 to 80 degree Celsius resistance, PCI express interface which supports GPS /GPRS /Wireless /Bluetooth devices and SDIO for cost efficient SD/Micro SD storage. Furthermore, the board is compliant with the vibration standard MIL-STD-810F and Method 514.5C with three axes of 5Hz to 500 Hz for maximum duration. The vibration spectrum exceeds 26rms (root mean squared). Portwell's Qseven also passes function tests with standing 20G of shock for 11ms in 3 axes/6 face direction.
