To strengthen employees’ fire safety awareness and emergency response capabilities, Portwell holds annual fire safety seminars and hands-on drills. This year, the company invited professional firefighters from the Shulin Fire Brigade to provide expert guidance. Through in-depth safety knowledge sessions and practical exercises, employees gained a better understanding of fire emergency response strategies, reinforcing the company’s internal safety protection mechanisms.
The seminar covered topics such as fire causes, response methods, and proper use of firefighting equipment, emphasizing the critical golden time for initial fire suppression. Employees learned how to correctly operate fire extinguishers and hydrants to effectively minimize fire damage. Additionally, the firefighters shared common fire hazards in both office and home environments, reminding everyone to develop good fire prevention habits to reduce risks.
Following the seminar, the firefighters led employees on a guided tour of the company’s fire safety equipment, introducing the fire hydrants, extinguishers, and emergency exits. Employees learned how to identify escape routes and emergency exit signs, gaining a clearer understanding of the company’s internal fire safety infrastructure. This knowledge ensures they can respond quickly and appropriately during a fire, safeguarding both themselves and their colleagues.
To conclude the event, all participants moved outdoors for a hands-on fire extinguisher drill. Under the guidance of professionals, employees practiced the correct usage of fire extinguishers, including pulling the safety pin, aiming the nozzle, and directing the spray at the base of the fire. This practical training not only enhanced their self-rescue abilities but also familiarized them with fire extinguisher operation, ensuring they can respond calmly in an emergency.
Portwell upholds a “safety-first” philosophy and conducts two fire safety seminars and drills annually to ensure that all employees possess emergency response skills. This event not only strengthened fire prevention awareness and emergency preparedness among employees but also reinforced the company’s overall safety management measures. Portwell remains committed to promoting various safety education and training programs, ensuring that every employee can work in the safest possible environment and contributing to a secure and stable workplace.
