Selecting a Mini-ITX Motherboard for Industrial Systems

Select a Mini-ITX motherboard according to the required processing performance, processor power, memory capacity, display configuration and system expansion. Projects involving industrial equipment should also evaluate the number of Ethernet and serial ports, storage interfaces, peripheral connectivity and available enclosure space.

Thermal requirements vary by processor platform and system workload. For fanless designs, verify the processor power profile, cooling solution and operating environment of the selected motherboard rather than relying on the Mini-ITX form factor alone. Individual product specifications should also be reviewed for supported interfaces, operating temperature and lifecycle status.
