Portwell announced the launch of its latest embedded computing platforms, PJAI-1100 and PJAI-1100F series, built on NVIDIA® Jetson Orin™ Nano and NX modules. The PJAI-1100/F series is built on a unified carrier board, the PJAI-C1100, and a shared mechanical platform that simplifies deployment and enhances system integration. The PJAI-1100 supports Jetson Orin Nano Super Mode and Jetson Orin NX, delivering up to 100 TOPS of AI performance, while the PJAI-1100F, includes active cooling for sustained performance in demanding environments, further supports Jetson Orin NX Super Mode, achieving up to 157 TOPS. “By leveraging the NVIDIA Jetson Orin architecture, the PJAI-1100 series delivers robust and efficient AI acceleration in a small form factor,” explained Sam Wang. “Our goal was to enable customers to deploy edge AI solutions that deliver optimized AI performance for edge environments where space, power, and thermal constraints matter.”
Both PJAI-1100 and PJAI-1100F models support NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano (4GB/8GB) or Orin NX (8GB/16GB) with LPDDR5 memory configurations, dual RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet ports, three USB 3.2 Type-A ports, dual DB9 COM ports, and a DB9 CANbus interface for industrial communication. For expansion, users can utilize an M.2 Key M 2280 slot for NVMe SSD, M.2 Key E 2230 for optional Wi-Fi, and M.2 Key B 3042/3052 for 4G/5G connectivity enabling flexible integration into connected edge environments.
PJAI-1100F includes a high-efficiency fan module, maintaining full 157 TOPS AI performance even at ambient temperatures up to 60°C, while the fanless PJAI-1100 delivers silent, maintenance-free operation for industrial applications. The operating temperature range spans –20°C to +60°C, ensuring reliable performance in harsh conditions. Mounting options are designed for versatility — the PJAI-1100 supports Wall Mount and DIN Rail installation, while the PJAI-1100F supports Wall Mount installation. Measuring only 152 x 109 x 63 mm (PJAI-1100) and 152 x 112 x 90 mm (PJAI-1100F), both models strike a balance between compactness, scalability, and ruggedness — hallmarks of Portwell’s industrial-grade engineering.
