Portwell Modular, OCP-Based SD-Branch Solutions for Intelligent Edge Networking

Portwell, a global leader in industrial and embedded computing solutions, has launched its SD-Branch Solutions portfolio, featuring the PSD-AN2P0-EXP AI expansion card, PSD-EM1P0-EXP PoE+ switch card, as well as the PNAC‑32300 and PNAC‑31110, both 1U rackmount network appliances designed for SD‑Branch applications. As enterprises accelerate digital transformation, SD-Branch is emerging as a critical architecture that unifies WAN, LAN, security, and centralized management into a single software-defined platform. Building on its strong foundation in security appliances and SD-WAN/uCPE network systems, Portwell extends its innovation to intelligent edge networking, enabling organizations to manage users, devices, and connectivity across distributed sites with full remote control and operational visibility.

Modular Design with AI, PoE, and High-Performance Networking Integration

Portwell’s SD‑Branch solutions adopt a modular, OCP‑based architecture, enabling flexible expansion across AI computing and networking functions. The PSD‑AN2P0‑EXP AI expansion card, featuring NVIDIA® Jetson Orin™ Nano or NX modules, delivers real‑time AI inference at the edge, supporting traffic analytics, security monitoring, video intelligence, and IoT event detection—without cloud latency. With dual 2.5GbE interfaces and integrated 802.3at PoE+ with a total power budget of 60W, it consolidates camera and sensor connectivity into a single platform.

The PSD‑EM1P0‑EXP PoE+ switch card features L2+ smart management and high‑power PoE+, simplifying deployment by powering IP cameras and access points directly. “PSD‑EM1P0‑EXP helps reduce system complexity while enhancing network control at the edge,” said Liz Chen, Portwell Product Manager.

Powered by Intel® Atom™® x7809C processor, the PNAC‑32300 delivers high‑speed 2.5GbE connectivity, integrated hardware bypass to enhance system resilience and network reliability, and OCP NIC 3.0 expansion support for versatile and scalable networking configurations.Meanwhile, the PNAC‑31110, powered by Intel® Atom™® C3758R processor, offers multi‑speed 10GbE and 2.5GbE interfaces, dual DC power inputs for power redundancy, and wireless‑ready flexibility, making it ideal for mission‑critical SD‑WAN and edge networking deployments.

“Portwell’s platforms are designed to combine AI, connectivity, and scalability in a unified system,” said Kane Liao, Product Manager of Portwell. “This enables customers to deploy intelligent SD‑Branch infrastructure faster and more efficiently.”

Optimized for SD-Branch Deployments Across Distributed Environments

Portwell’s SD‑Branch solutions are purpose‑built for modern distributed environments, where multiple branch sites require centralized control and simplified infrastructure. By integrating routing, switching, security, PoE, and AI into a single platform, organizations can deploy all‑in‑one branch systems that reduce hardware footprint, streamline installation, and lower operational costs. “The combination of AI acceleration and PoE connectivity allows customers to deploy intelligent surveillance and IoT applications directly at the branch,” said Chen.

“With modular expansion and wireless support, these platforms provide the flexibility required for SD‑WAN, SASE, and edge computing scenarios,” Liao added. These solutions are ideal for retail chains, financial services, industrial IoT, logistics, healthcare, and campus environments, where uptime, security, and scalability are critical.

Empowering the Future of Intelligent and Scalable Branch Networks

With its next‑generation SD‑Branch solutions, Portwell empowers enterprises to transition from traditional networking to intelligent, software‑defined branch infrastructures. By combining AI acceleration, PoE integration, high‑speed connectivity, and modular expansion, the portfolio delivers greater efficiency, simplified deployment, and future‑ready scalability. From smart retail and industrial automation to cloud‑managed enterprise networks, Portwell provides a reliable foundation for advancing edge AI innovation.
