From Doing Well to Connecting Better — Building Stronger Workplace Relationships Through Meaningful Communication

In today’s fast-changing workplace, professional skills are essential, but effective communication and positive interpersonal relationships are equally important for teamwork and productivity.

Portwell continues to focus on employees’ overall well-being and development by organizing the “Employee Care Program — People Skills Matter More Than Task Skills” course. The program encourages employees to rethink the value of workplace communication and learn how to build trust, strengthen connections, and create a more positive work environment through thoughtful and empathetic communication.

Many people view communication as simply expressing opinions clearly or delivering facts to solve problems. However, communication is not only about exchanging information; it is also about building relationships. Through real-life and workplace scenarios, the course helped employees understand that how we communicate is just as important as what we say, allowing others to feel respected and understood.

Using “10 Situational Questions Everyone Should Know” as the foundation, the course guided employees to reflect on their communication habits and blind spots through case studies and interactive discussions. Employees learned how to apply more empathetic communication skills, manage different perspectives and workplace challenges, and reduce misunderstandings while maintaining both efficiency and mutual respect.

The instructor highlighted that workplaces often focus on speed and results, but overly direct communication may unintentionally affect relationships. By incorporating warmer expressions such as “I understand your perspective,” “I can relate to your feelings,” “I’m willing to support you,” and “How can I help?” communication can go beyond information exchange and become a bridge for trust and collaboration.

Portwell is committed to promoting diverse employee benefits and care initiatives, including health promotion, psychological support, stress-relief activities, and learning opportunities. Moving forward, the company will continue to provide various employee care programs that support personal growth, encourage positive mindsets, and foster a workplace culture built on respect, support, and meaningful connections.
