Portwell Expands Medical AI Computing Portfolio with Wincomm’s New WMP-xxS Series Medical AI Panel PC

Portwell Medical AI Panel PC deployed in clinical diagnostic environment

Portwell, Inc., a global provider of industrial computing solutions, has expanded its medical computing portfolio with Wincomm’s upgraded WMP-xxS Series medical AI panel PCs. This collaboration brings together Portwell’s edge computing expertise with Wincomm’s medical-grade hardware. Together, both companies address the rising demand for AI-enabled healthcare applications.

The new series includes the 19-inch WMP-19S, 21.5-inch WMP-22S, and 23.8-inch WMP-24S. These platforms provide scalable options for diagnostic rooms, operating rooms, and clinical environments.

Advancing Medical Edge AI with CPU and GPU Computing

AI is becoming essential in medical imaging, decision support, and surgical workflows. Therefore, healthcare systems require greater computing performance closer to the point of care. The WMP-19S/22S/24S Series addresses these requirements with 14th/13th/12th Gen Intel®Core™ and Intel®Core™ Series 2 processors, paired with the Intel®Q670E chipset.

In addition, the platforms support up to 96GB dual-channel DDR5 memory and optional NVIDIA MXM RTX PRO 4000 or A4500 graphics. As a result, they provide high-performance CPU and GPU resources for demanding AI workloads. This heterogeneous architecture supports AI-assisted diagnosis, image reconstruction, and intraoperative analysis. Consequently, medical solution providers can process data locally while reducing reliance on external servers.

For medical imaging equipment integration, the WMP-xxS Series provides a PCIe x4 expansion slot, GPI interface, and Video-In connectivity with RGB color adjustment. The integrated GPI capture-card control solution supports real-time image capture and recording. Meanwhile, color adjustment capabilities help maintain visual consistency for critical imaging applications.

Designed for Medical Environments, Deployment and Manageability

Beyond computing performance, clinical systems must prioritize safety, hygiene, and compliance throughout their deployment lifecycle. Specifically, the WMP-19S/22S/24S Series complies with EN 60601-1 and EN 60601-1-2 medical safety and electromagnetic compatibility standards. Furthermore, it features an antibacterial housing engineered for hygiene-sensitive environments.

An optional UPS battery helps maintain system operation during temporary power interruptions. Furthermore, Wincomm’s proprietary i-Control technology coordinates power management, computing operations, and thermal control to optimize system performance under heavy workloads.

For organizations managing larger device fleets, the series supports MECM, DFCI, Microsoft Autopilot, and Intel®vPro® Enterprise. These capabilities enable efficient system deployment, configuration, and remote management. As a result, healthcare IT teams can simplify device administration across connected clinical environments.

Strengthening Portwell and Wincomm’s Smart Healthcare Strategy

Wincomm’s WMP-xxS Series further complements Portwell’s growing medical and Edge AI computing portfolio. By combining embedded computing expertise with medical certification capabilities, both companies offer a broader range of computing platforms. These range from embedded medical systems to integrated medical panel PCs for point-of-care applications.

The WMP-xxS Series also reflects Wincomm’s INNOVALUE philosophy, integrating innovation with long-term product value. The platforms comply with RoHS and REACH requirements while supporting ISO 14067 carbon-footprint assessment initiatives. Additionally, they carry CE, FCC, and VCCI Class B certifications.

As AI continues to reshape medical imaging and clinical workflows, Portwell and Wincomm will continue leveraging their engineering expertise to accelerate the development of intelligent, connected, and application-ready medical computing solutions.
