Portwell, Inc., a global provider of industrial computing and embedded computing solutions, announced the expansion of its medical computing portfolio following the launch of Wincomm WMP-22V-PIS-L and WMP-24V-PIS-L medical operating room (OR) panel PCs. Available in 21.5-inch and 23.8-inch configurations, the new series integrates Intel®Core™ Ultra 200 H Series processors, Intel®Arc™ graphics, a built-in power supply, and an ultra-lightweight fanless architecture. Designed for digital operating rooms, surgical imaging, and AI-assisted clinical workflows, the series provides medical equipment manufacturers and healthcare solution providers with flexible computing platforms for increasingly data-intensive clinical environments.
As digital surgery and AI-assisted medical applications continue to evolve, clinical computing systems must support increasingly complex image processing, real-time data analysis, and integrated visualization while operating within the space and environmental constraints of modern healthcare facilities. WMP-22V/24V-PIS-L series addresses these requirements with Intel®Core™ Ultra 200 H Series processors, including Intel®Core™ Ultra 5 225H and Core™ Ultra 7 255H options, paired with integrated Intel®Arc™ graphics to support accelerated image processing and AI workloads at the clinical edge. With dual-channel DDR5 memory support up to 96GB and PCIe Gen 4 NVMe storage, the platform provides computing resources for applications such as surgical image enhancement, 3D visualization, medical image processing, and AI-assisted analysis. Optional Wi-Fi 7 connectivity further supports integration into connected healthcare environments, while HDMI®-In and dual video outputs enable flexible integration with surgical imaging equipment and external displays. By bringing computing capabilities closer to medical devices and clinical workflows, the series helps system developers reduce dependence on remote processing and build more responsive medical applications.
Beyond computing performance, surgical environments demand medical systems that are easy to deploy, maintain, and integrate into existing clinical infrastructure. WMP-22V/24V-PIS-L series incorporates a built-in 250W power supply supporting AC 100–240V input, eliminating the need for an external power adapter and simplifying cable management around surgical arms and medical carts. Featuring an antimicrobial aluminum alloy enclosure, the 21.5-inch WMP-22V-PIS-L weighs just 7.4 kg, while the 23.8-inch WMP-24V-PIS-L weighs 8.6 kg, offering greater installation flexibility in space-constrained operating rooms. Both models feature Full HD displays, projected capacitive multi-touch technology, and optional optical enhancements to accommodate diverse clinical viewing requirements. The fanless design reduces forced-air circulation, while IP65 front protection and IP54 rear protection with the cable cover installed facilitate routine cleaning. A dedicated “Clean Me” hotkey temporarily disables touch input during disinfection, and optional 4kV isolated LAN, COM, and USB 2.0 interfaces provide additional electrical protection. Designed to comply with EN/IEC 60601-1 and EN/IEC 60601-1-2 medical safety and electromagnetic compatibility standards, the series supports integration into demanding clinical environments.
The introduction of WMP-22V/24V-PIS-L series further complements Portwell’s growing portfolio of medical computing and Edge AI solutions. By combining Portwell’s expertise in embedded platforms, system integration, and AI computing with Wincomm’s experience in medical panel PCs, medical safety requirements, and clinical application design, the two companies offer medical device manufacturers a broader selection of computing solutions—from embedded modules and medical Edge AI systems to integrated medical panel PCs. This complementary portfolio enables customers to select computing platforms according to their application requirements, deployment environments, and long-term product development strategies. As healthcare systems continue to adopt AI-assisted imaging, connected surgical equipment, and intelligent clinical workflows, Portwell and Wincomm remain committed to advancing medical computing innovation and supporting healthcare technology providers with scalable, reliable, and application-ready platforms.
