Smart transportation systems are moving video analytics closer to the roadside for faster local detection of traffic flow, pedestrians, and abnormal events. Designed for compact roadside installations, WEBS-91J0 offers Intel®Processor N150 or Intel Atom® x7433RE options, with support for wide-temperature deployment. Additionally, three independent 1GbE ports, RS-232/RS-485, Mini PCIe, and M.2 B-Key expansion enable flexible integration. Specifically, these interfaces simplify video analytics and Edge AI inference at smart intersections.
WEBS-91J0 provides three independent 1GbE ports. For instance, these ports can be dedicated to separate traffic flows, including cameras, local edge processing, and backend systems. Separating camera streams, field sensor data, and management traffic across physical Ethernet interfaces helps isolate network traffic. Consequently, it provides greater flexibility for network security zoning, system integration, and troubleshooting.
System integrators can transmit camera video to WEBS-91J0 via 1GbE or USB 3.0 for image preprocessing. An optional Hailo-8 AI accelerator module via M.2 B-Key enables edge inference workloads such as pedestrian detection, traffic flow counting, and abnormal event detection. Detection results, event snapshots, and system status are sent directly to the management center. As a result, the system avoids continuous raw video transmission and significantly reduces upstream bandwidth. Three USB 3.0 ports support USB cameras or external SSDs for local image acquisition and data backup. Mini PCIe can accommodate mSATA or wireless modules for local event storage and wireless connectivity. RS-232 and RS-485 interfaces also connect to existing sensors and serial devices. Therefore, system integrators can add edge computing capabilities while retaining deployed field equipment.
With a compact footprint of 152 × 112 × 48 mm, WEBS-91J0 supports both DIN-rail and wall mounting. This design makes it easier to integrate into roadside control boxes and traffic equipment cabinets. Its fanless design reduces maintenance concerns associated with fan failure and dust accumulation. The Intel Atom® x7433RE configuration supports an operating temperature range of −40°C to 60°C, providing an option for roadside and semi-outdoor installations exposed to wider temperature variations. A 12–24V DC input also supports integration with commonly used industrial power systems.
Portwell assists with project-specific configurations of computing, AI acceleration, and communication functions. In addition, we provide BIOS support, BOM management, and thermal design services. Ultimately, these services help integrators move from proof-of-concept to volume production.
